BEGINNER LEVEL 2 – Lesson 29 for Teachers

LESSON 29: HOLY SPIRIT – PHILIP 

VOCABULARY: believer, encounter, apostles 

STORY: There is a man named Philip. He is a Godly man. He travels around teaching about the Lord. Philip traveled to Samaria. While he was there he encountered many believers but they were not baptized in the Holy Spirit. Philip wanted everyone to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. When the apostles of Jerusalem found out that the people of Samaria had accepted the Lord, they sent Peter and John to pray with the people. When Peter and John arrived in Samaria they prayed for the new believers to receive the Holy Spirit. They laid hands on the people, who then received the Holy Spirit. Philp continued to travel and teach about the Lord. He helped many receive the Holy Spirit.

ACTIVITIES: 

  1. Review the Vocabulary Words
  2. Have the students write the words and draw a picture for each in their notebooks. 
  3. Listen to Audio 1 as you read the story.
  4. Listen to Audio 2 – Story with Questions as you read the story and answer the questions.
  5. Have students answer the following questions in their notebooks: 
    • How do we receive the Holy Spirit? 
    • -How does the Holy Spirit help us?
    • -What can we do when we receive the Holy Spirit? 
    • -How can we help others when we have the Holy Spirit? 

6. End class in prayer.
