INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2 – Lesson 4 for Teachers

LESSON 4: JESUS HEALS THE BLIND MAN

VOCABULARY: blind, heals, met, spit, mud, washed, begged, disciples, doubted

STORY: There is a man. He has spent a long time sitting and begging. He cannot see. He has been blind his whole life. One day Jesus was walking by when he saw the man sitting at the side. Jesus’s disciples asked him why this man was blind. Jesus explained to them that this man was born blind so that the works of God might be displayed to the world. Jesus took this opportunity to show the Lord’s goodness. Jesus spit on the ground and made mud. Jesus took the mud and put it on the man’s eyes. He told the man to go wash off the mud. The man listened to Jesus and went and washed the mud off his eyes. When he washed the mud off his eyes he could see! When everyone saw him they could not believe that it was the same man. They thought it was someone different. They were sure that it could not be the man who sat and begged. They asked him how he could see when he was born blind. He told everyone that the man they call Jesus put mud on his eyes and when he washed his eyes he could see. Some people doubted that Jesus was a good man. But this man believed in Jesus and knew that he was the son of God and had performed a great miracle for him. He worshipped Jesus and believed in Him. When he was asked how he could see, he told everyone his story. He wanted everyone to know about God.
